About this work

A group of five German soldiers stand with the Dutch sergeant-major Van Ommering, holding a white flag, near the Koninginnebrug on the Noordereiland. It is around 16:00 on the afternoon of May 14th, shortly after the German bombardment. The surrender of Rotterdam is a fact.
