About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, carrying a spear (lance) above his right shoulder, the point directed diagonally downward. His hands close together around the spear. This is the first movement for raising the spear to the shoulder and carrying it horizontally. This print is part of the series of 32 hand-numbered prints of spear carriers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
