About this work

Wine cup fragment from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw'. Porcelain wine cup, painted in underglaze blue with a frieze of stylized leaves and below that a frieze of spirals. The base is glazed, the foot ring is straight, faceted and turned inward. No oven sand was found. There is no relief and the lip is upturned.
