About this work

Golden chain with pendant. The chain consists of 12 shell-shaped links with white enamel, horizontally striped over black, alternating with 12 long openwork links made of two parallel bars over which run five strigil motifs, decorated with white-black striped enamel. Openwork pendant consisting of an oval frame with the same motif as the chain (smaller and 2 x 6 links), within which a polychrome enamel depiction of an angel (St. Michael) trampling and piercing a demon. Marked. Case for the chain of the Order of St. Michel. Elongated box with decoration and clasp.
