About this work

Ribbon, with a printed color image on the front; along the bottom edge a horizontal yellow band with inscription; above it a continuous scene repeated 6½ times: ships at sea, on the left three sailing ships with pennants in the masts; two have smoke clouds on the starboard side (from firing guns); to the right of these (center) a mermaid turned to the right, blowing on a triton she holds in her right hand; in her left hand she holds a Dutch flag, with an inscription on the white stripe; on the far right a sailing ship with an English flag.
