About this work
White silk ribbon with diagonal red-white-blue stripes on the side edges, and an orange band across the top and bottom. In the center the portrait of a man in uniform (William III), surrounded by a metal laurel wreath and surmounted by a woven crown. The wreath is equipped with attachment flaps that have been pushed through the silk and a piece of cardboard behind it and folded over. Inscription; top: 1849 1874 / 12 May. Dated; top: 1874 / 12 May.
