About this work

Bronze medal of the opening of the Canal of Terneuzen to Ghent, in honor of Willem I Frederik, King of the Netherlands, medal offered by the States of East Flanders and Zeeland and the council of Ghent to Cornelis. Obverse: bust of a man within inscription. Reverse: Neptune, leaning on a trident, standing with foot on the prow of an antique ship and pointing with outstretched right arm forward; at his feet sits Ceres with a cornucopia of abundance and ears of corn; left open lock within inscription; cut: inscription. Originally together with NG-770-A in the corresponding, elongated, red box NG-770-C.
