About this work

On the left, a drunk man with a glass in his right hand and a bottle raised in his left hand; next to him, an officer in a tall hat who, with his left hand behind his back, accepts a coin from a third man, a citizen with a cane and a police helmet. On the right foreground, a fourth man points his right hand, holding a cigar butt, to the left. The police turn a blind eye when wealthy people cause disturbances on the street. On a separate strip of paper, the words of the officer and the drunkard. Pendant of the drawing: The police against the poor.
