About this work
Matchlock musket with round, slightly trumpet-shaped barrel, octagonal at the breech; stiletto-shaped front sight; rear sight notch at the breech; powder pan with shield and cover attached to the barrel, rotating on a vertical axis; Utrecht mark stamped on the barrel, mark (from N. of Nuremberg?) below; flat rectangular lock plate, cock with notch and wing bolt; coat of arms of Utrecht carved in walnut on the left side of the stock; brass band, buttplate and ramrod knob. Match still present.
