Nine Models of Jury Rudders

Nine models of emergency rudders. Three emergency rudders (nos. 1-3) are almost identical to models NG-MC-228, 229, and 230. They have a tiller as the rudder head, and the rudder blade is composed of round timbers covered with planks. Two of them (nos. 1-2) have a donkey's head as the rudder hook around the tiller; the third uses an anchor stock for this purpose. One emergency rudder (no. 2) has an anchor stock around the rudder head, similar to model NG-MC-229 (Pakenham's emergency rudder). The fourth model is a smaller version of this type of emergency rudder and has two short anchor stocks around the tiller, one as a rudder hook and one around the rudder head. Two almost identical models (nos. 5-6) are emergency rudders with a tiller as the rudder head, and the rudder blade is composed of ropes held together by planks; these models have special brass rudder hooks. The seventh model, made of planks, has a teardrop shape and is presumably based on the design of Bassiere.
