About this work
Large fragment of a ship's flag, blue with a yellow Scandinavian cross and a forked fly. In the upper hoist, presumably a royal crown. With double notches on the fly side. This Swedish flag was captured by Admiral Van Wassenaer Obdam at the Battle of the Sound on 8 November 1658.
