About this work
Model of a paddle wheel (port side) with eight moving boards. The axle runs through to the outside of the wheel; the boards, each provided with their own axle, derive their movement via spokes from an eccentric around the axle against the ship's side. The model is moved with a crank. Scale 1:10 (derived).
