About this work

Model of a basket-shaped framework with four small wheels on the sides and eyes for ropes on the top. The cage construction, which was to be made of iron in reality, was according to designer Uhlenbeck intended 'To be able to examine the external parts of the hull of the ships'. The cage provided space for a diver, who thereby enjoyed some protection and hold.
