Model of an 8-Pounder Gun and Two Carriages

Model of an 8-pound cannon on a truck, incomplete. The 35 cm long barrel has a caliber of 17 mm, a trunnion ring, and the cascabel is flat at the back. Inscriptions are engraved on the barrel, along with two crossed anchors and palm branches. The cheeks of the truck, with four steps and an elliptical cutout at the bottom, are further apart at the back than at the front and are connected by the neck, axle boxes, and a crossbar in between, and additionally by two bolts passing through the cheeks. The breastwork, wedge, and elevation plateau, which must rest on one of the bolts at the front and on the sole plate at the back, are missing. The rear axle box is wide and serves as the sole plate. The front wheels are slightly larger than the rear wheels. The second truck consists of two parts. The upper part consists of the cheeks and the neck, identical to the first truck, but set on a wide base plate. The lower part consists of the axle boxes connected by a wide base plate.
