About this work

Seal, lead cast, round, coat of arms (of Orange-Nassau) surrounded by a strap with text "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE", held by two lions; above a crown, a scroll with text "IE MAINTIENDRAI" with inscription on raised band "SIGILLUM GUILLELMI CAR HENR FRIS D G PRINC AURIACI ET NASSOVII", the outer edge consists of branch motifs, alternating with a total of 8 flowers (one of which has fallen off). On the back impression of a partially preserved seal from the 16th century (on one half).
