About this work

Silver commemorative medal depicting a Greek warrior holding a round shield protectively before him with his left arm, while arrows are shot at him from the right. In his right hand he holds a short sword. Behind him a broken column with rubble lying beside it. At the top an inscription WAT OOK VAL. TROUW STAAT PAL. Below the warrior ANTWERPEN DECEMBER MDCCCXXXII. On the other side of the medal a flat side with only a laurel wreath engraved around the edge. In the center the name G. Leers Kapitein.
