About this work
Command staff. An example of a diplomatic gift. Probably given by the Swedish King Charles XII to the Dutch commanders during the action at Copenhagen in the summer of 1700. In the summer of 1700, Sweden, England, and Holland carried out a combined maritime action against Denmark to force the Danes to uphold the Treaty of Altona (1689). On August 18, peace was signed. The Dutch ships actively participated in the attack on Copenhagen in July 1700.
