About this work

A crossbow is a heavy weapon that could shoot arrows with much greater force than a longbow. Instead of drawing the crossbow by hand, the marksman used a reel. Crossbow arrows, however, could not go further than thirty metres. Moreover, it took quite some time to draw the crossbow.
