About this work
Hornen spoon with a twisted handle and on the convex side six scenes from the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15: 11-24). From bottom to top are depicted: the son departs with his inheritance, the son in the midst of his friends at a feast, the expulsion of the son, the son tending the swine, the return of the son, and the slaughter of the fatted calf. Each scene is isolated from the others by a scalloped decoration.
