About this work
Percussion army pistol, model M 1815. Smooth, round barrel, which transitions into a pentagonal section at the breech. A percussion pan is tapped into the top of the breech. Marked on the barrel: 1816, IS (with crown above), L and GB. Lock: Percussion lock. Originally a flint battery lock, later adapted for percussion. The brass pan is sawn off. The hammer has a large ring for the thumb at the top. The sawn-off pan is marked: W (with crown above). Wood: Walnut. Fittings: Brass: At the front of the stock is an openwork sleeve for attaching the barrel; lock plate; trigger guard; butt cap.
