Chess pieces: 32 red and white ivory pieces without board.

Complete set of chess pieces. Sixteen carved ivory pieces stained red with dye: these are the so-called 'pagan' pieces. The king has a devil's face. The sixteen white pieces are grouped around a cross-bearing king and queen. The rooks are in the shape of elephants with a tower and flag on their backs; the knights are riders with a lance in hand, and the pawns are soldiers with halberds. All pieces stand on an oval base, under which a sphere with floral reliefs; below the sphere a round base. Several protruding pieces are broken off. Two cutting blades of the halberds of the pawns lie loose nearby.
