Fragment of a musket ramrod

Musket measure, fragment consisting of brass and leather casing with leather ears. The bottom is missing and the leather is strongly dried out and no longer fits over the brass. Standard description of musket measure: brass covered with leather. Provided with two eyelets on the side to pass a cord through, with which the lid was held and the measure was hung on the bandolier. A musketeer's bandolier had twelve powder measures and a bag with bullets. The powder measures contained a carefully measured amount of gunpowder for one shot.
