About this work
Hunting whip of brown wood with an ivory hook. Between hook and shaft a silver button of braided work. The lash is of plaited white leather, swelling in the middle and tapering to the end. Tied at the base to a flat leather loop. Whip belonging to a hunting costume of Prince Alexander worn at hunting parties by Emperor Napoleon III.
