About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: Leiden, in the guise of a crowned woman with a liberty cap on a spear, a mirror entwined by a snake and with a coat of arms, sitting on a stack of cloth, to which an image of Leiden University is attached; to her left a lion with a sword in hand, leaning on a horn of plenty and a water jug of the Rhine; background Leiden bridge and the newly built fountain within a legend; section: inscription. Reverse: inscription between coats of arms.
