About this work
Silver medal with a hole. Obverse: Luther in priestly vestments with left hand on an open Bible, which stands on an altar and with a candlestick in the right hand tramples the tiara and papal bulls, left swan with olive branch in beak. Arm from clouds holds a laurel wreath above his head, illuminated by sun rays above the inscription, within an inscription. Reverse: illuminated by heavenly light, Truth helps Humanity, depicted as a kneeling, veiled woman emerging from the yoke of the Catholic faith. In the background a temple on a rock, against which storm-tossed waves break above the inscription, within an inscription.
