About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: bust of a man pointing with two fingers of his right hand at text in a book, which he holds open in his other hand, within a border inscription. Reverse: standing on a hill a magnifying glass, into which rays of the rising sun fall, which converge at the focal point and then diverge again. On a mirror, at the focal point and at the end point of the sun's rays, inscriptions, on the background a view of the city of Wittenburg within a border inscription; incuse: inscription.
