About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: woman with a crescent moon above her head, resting her right arm on a shield, beneath which a sheared sheep, shears, and a shepherd's crook; beside her two genii are striking coins on a screw press within an inscription. Reverse: beneath four crowned shields connected by ribbons, ten men sit around a table with coins, scales, writing implements, and coin standards; in the foreground an open money box with a key still inserted, within an inscription.
