About this work
Silver medal. Obverse: bust of a man above an inscription in an ornamental frame within an inscription. Reverse: Providence, illuminated by a radiant eye in a triangle, sits on a cloud and holds in one hand a piece of parchment upon which the appointment of the prince is written before a column disappearing into the clouds, and in the other an open book resting on a Bible, a liberty cap, and a cornucopia within an inscription; lower section: inscription.
