About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: bust of a man with a laurel wreath within an inscription. Reverse: Frederick, in Roman armor, protects with a shield the Saxon maiden, who sits by a shield and with a cap on her lap, raises her hands in surprise; with a Medusa head in his other hand Frederick frightens conquered Saxon soldiers, while he tramples a sphinx with his feet within an inscription; section: inscription.
