About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: West Frisian mint, depicted as a woman with a bird on her head, leaning on a screw press, shows a balance in equilibrium to the Dutch maiden, depicted as a standing woman with a liberty cap on a spear and a Bible; next to her a crowned shield of arms within an inscription; section: date and mint mark: herring tube. Reverse: four shields of arms bound together with a ribbon hanging from two orange branches, which together form a wreath within an inscription.
