About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: bust of a man within an inscription. Reverse: the ship of Aeneas battered by a storm: the crew washes overboard, masts break off, while Aeneas himself urges his comrades to persevere; on the right, Neptune in his sea-chariot with his trident attempts to calm the wind gods under a rainbow and an inscription.
