About this work
Silver medal. Obverse: Crowned woman with ship's rudder and crowned shield, representing the city of Amsterdam, sitting amidst attributes of trade, industry and art; above her head float two cherubs, who jointly hold a banner with inscription, and of which left bears a shield hanging on ribbon, and right blows a trumpet; right palace on Dam and Mercury with staff in hand; left Neptune in his sea chariot and part of Rembrandt's Night Watch (SK-C-5). Reverse: Inscription within legend.
