About this work

One-sided lead mark weight. Obverse: two stamps one above the other; top: three herrings placed one above the other; bottom: number 23. Reverse: blank. Skippers had to purchase such a weight when entering the port of Enkhuizen to cover the costs of the lantern on the so-called Danish Head at the harbor entrance.
