About this work

Imitation of a prize medal in silver paper and wax. Obverse: woman in ancient dress, representing a Muse, holding a lyre in her left hand and crowning with a laurel wreath in her outstretched, raised right hand a man approaching her, who offers a roll of paper within an inscription. Reverse: inscription within a wreath of olive branches.
