About this work

Copper medal with a hole in it. Obverse: at the suggestion of a Spaniard, two men, representing Dirk Kanter and Hendrik van Helsding, dig a pit; around them a large number of onlookers above a crowned coat of arms between the year within an inscription. Reverse: the two men fall into their own pit, while the Spaniard laughs in his fist and the onlookers flee above the year within an inscription.
