Copper medal. Obverse: at the instruction of Philip II, depicted as an observing man with crown and scepter, a kneeling Spanish soldier binds the feet of a seated woman representing the Netherlands; in the background, the Dutch lion rushes to help within an inscription. Reverse: a man representing William of Orange, and a woman with a liberty cap representing the Netherlands; between them: a lying Dutch lion and broken chains within an inscription.
