About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: view of the city from the south under a banner with inscription; in the foreground: St. Antonieschans and the road; below it a crowned coat of arms flanked by two wild men with clubs. Reverse: open book on an altar, whose base bears a monogram of the letters S and C, illuminated by an all-seeing eye in a radiant halo; to the left of the altar: Justice, holding a sword and scales above a small tree in her right hand and a palm branch in her left; to the right: Industry, gazing heavenward, with a beehive in her left hand and her left foot resting on a spade leaning against a small tree, within an inscription; at the base: blank.
