About this work
Brass medal. Obverse: mortar with inscription on the rim, in which two pestles rest, flanked by two apothecary jars, under a jug with a hinged lid above a tablet with the year within legend. Reverse: scales in balance above a bale of almonds, from which two cinnamon sticks protrude, below which number 58; above the balance: roll of tobacco and loaf of sugar within legend.
