About this work

The Kanqah-e-Moula is a mosque built in 1395 on the orders of Sultan Sikandar of Kashmir, in memory of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani. The wooden design, with elements of papier-mâché, is a typical example of architecture in the Jammu and Kashmir region. The shikara boat in the foreground, the Jhelum river and the Himalayas are also well-known features of the region.
