About this work
Trossachs Hotel became known due to Romantic poetry originating in the area (including Sir Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake). It overlooks Loch Achray. Ben A'An is a 461-meter-high mountain. The Trossachs is strictly speaking the forest area between Loch Katrine in the west and Loch Achray in the east; however, the name is also used to describe the larger area between Argyll and Perthshire, east of Ben Lomond.
