About this work
Silver cup, donated by H. Bentinck, drost of Vollenhoven, to Zwartsluis in 1676. Chalice, silver with lid, decorated with chasing, on the cup the allegories of War, Peace and Justice with appropriate poems. The cup became property of the Royal Antiquarian Society in 1864 which opened its museum on 27 October 1877.
