About this work

Part of a group of photographs collected by photographer Richard Polak during his travels. This photo was made around 1910 by his travel companion Mr. L. de Bruyn. Photographs he collected on earlier travels were exhibited at the Rotterdamsche Kunstkring (1895), Arti en Amicitiae in Amsterdam (1897-1898?) and Societeit 't Collegie in Kampen (date as yet unknown). Boys and men described as Nubian based on the title on the object.
