About this work

The German photographer chose Banda Neira, one of the most remote islands in the Indonesian archipelago, as his operating base. In this album he presents an overview of the photographs that he sold to travellers and expats. Banda was the centre of the nutmeg industry. In the album are pictures of the plantations, as well as the landscape and houses. He photographed the local inhabitants on outlying islands.
