Photo album with a total of 162 photographs on 89 leaves and one loose photograph on a separate mounting sheet not belonging to the album. The album was compiled by Sigisbert Chrétien (Gijs) Bosch Reitz. The majority of the photographs are accompanied by text applied to the glass negative and printed with the image. Depicted are views and interiors of temple complexes in Japen, street scenes in Japan, and six photographs in Shanghai, China. The photographer is anonymous for most of the photographs. Twenty-six photographs were taken by Kusakabe Kimbei.
