Suriname 1895-1898, 'Souvenirs de Voyage'

A photo album about Suriname with 134 photographs by Théodore B. van Lelyveld from the years 1895-1898. Théodore van Lelyveld was the adjutant of Jhr. Mr. J.A.J. van Asch van Wijk, the governor of Suriname and also a painter of botanical subjects. The album contains a portrait of Governor Van Asch van Wijk. Album with binding of dark reddish-brown linen with leather bands and corners; 50 double sheets of blue-grey paper with photos inserted in corners or pasted on both sides. Pages 82-95 are blank; the last pages 96-99 contain 13 postcards from France. On the front in print: Souvenirs de Voyage. Endpapers of pink decorated paper.
