About this work
Group portrait of inhabitants of a village on the Tittiebo-kreek (Mauritie Kreek) near the Wayombo River, during a visit with the governor on 6 August 1895. Mainly children and several women with babies. In the village live descendants of the original inhabitants of Suriname. Photograph print in a photo album by Théodore van Lelyveld on Suriname from 1895–1898.
