About this work
In their time these modern looking photographs were nothing more than simple tools. The architectural draughtsmen of the viaduct would consult them when discussing their work. Architects generally relied on blueprints to quickly duplicate the construction drawings. The interplay of lines of the slender structures rising high above the ground and standing out against the sky is enhanced by the powerful contrast.
