About this work
The photographer's father was the director of De Nederlandsche Bank (Central Bank of the Netherlands) on Rokin in Amsterdam, where the family also lived. The young amateur photographed his friends in his room and even on the roof of the building. He also took his camera outdoors, for instance to the square behind the Rijksmuseum where people played tennis and rode horses.
