About this work
According to the Bible, Mount Sinai, where God gave Moses the Tables of the Law, is located in this rugged landscape in the Sinai Peninsula. In the photograph the men rest while naval officer Vignes sets up his camera to shoot the sacred site and the travellers. Their tour took them from Beirut to the Dead Sea and beyond. The photographs were intended for a publication about the region.
