About this work

Albert’s letters make no mention of a visit to the Chinese city of Macau. However, his initials on the back of this panorama suggest he visited the city during the long journey to or from Japan and bought the photo there. As so often, the photographer chose a high vantage point, in this case Colina de Penha.
